Orange Spiced Easter Eggs.

I'm not really a big Easter egg fan, but I suppose you can say the raw cross bites I made earlier inspired me to create these delectable treats- orange cinnamon spiced chocolate eggs.

I know they don't look as festive as the wrapping of commercially sold ones, but hey, I only conceptualised these five minutes before I made 'em so I think they're pretty good. I figured, if I'm making raw cross bites, may as well infuse their flavours in another traditional Easter treat, right? Right. So, they've got some flavours present in hot cross buns- fruity and citrusy with a little bit of spice. They don't take a long time to make either, so that's a plus.

Oh yeah, they're filled with almond butter too for extra goodness. And now that I think about it, you could probably roll these on orange/lemon/lime zest to make 'em prettier and more festive.

Orange Spiced Easter Eggs

Chocolate coating:
Around 1/3 block of dark chocolate, melted OR one recipe raw chocolate
2T honey
2t cinnamon
1t coconut oil
Juice of one orange
Zest of half an orange

'Eggs':
12 Medjool dates
Almond butter

To make the chocolate coating, simply combine everything in a bowl. Adjust according to taste.

To make the eggs, carefully remove the pit from the date ensuring that the date itself doesn't fall apart. Fill with a little bit of almond butter, roll into an egg like shape, and coat with chocolate. Freeze until ready to eat, and decorate as you please. Enjoy and have a great Easter :)
